& INTERNSHIP
OPPORTUNITIES FOR INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERS
CEIHG personnel consists of international and Nicaraguan
volunteers. Available work for Nicaraguan and international volunteers includes:
facilitating surveys and opinion polls of various sectors of the economy and
society; investigation of official economic data; conducting
interviews with leaders and groups; processing, interpreting and integrating data from various
sources into reports; documentation, reporting, correspondence writing; photo-documentation;
production and dissemination of educational and
promotional materials (texts, charts, flyers and posters, graphics,
audio-video); preparation of educational program curricula; networking with organizations; organizing,
administering, and facilitating presentations, lectures, workshops and classes;
production and presentation of theatre, music and other artistic projects;
manage online communications; computer technical management; general administrative
help; and more.
Work tours can be from one to six months, extendable.
REQUISITES FOR INTERNATIONAL
VOLUNTEERS
To participate in the activities of the CEIHG as an international
volunteer, a candidate must be functionally competent in the
Spanish language, and able to satisfactorily pass the CEIHG's intensive
four-week Comprender la Economía
course in Nicaragua or the online "Understanding Economics" course offered by the
Henry George Institute of NY. After successfully completing
either of the
courses, the prospective volunteer must then apply, qualify for, and declare
membership in the
Georgist Community
Fund.
Satisfying these primary requirements, the candidate will be asked to submit
the CEIHG's volunteer volunteer application,
a résumé or curriculum vitae, and a two to
three-page essay which demonstrates their understanding of
the georgist economic analysis and remedy and explains their motivation to do
volunteer work with the CEIHG in Nicaragua.
Finally, the candidate will be invited to a brief
interview in the CEIHG Managua office or via Skype. If accepted, the
candidate will receive a formal letter of acceptance within
two to four weeks.
 PARTICIPATION, COSTS, AND
STIPEND
Volunteers can work part or full time with the CEIHG for
an indefinite period. Depending on funding status, the CEIHG may
be able to pay a monthly volunteer stipend of up to $100 for
part-time, or $200 for full-time work. Apart from that,
volunteers must pay their own airfare, room & board, and
personal expenses while working in Nicaragua. Room and board with a Nicaraguan family
may cost $200-$300 per month.

El personal del CEIHG consiste de voluntarios internacionales y
voluntarios nacionales de Nicaragua. Trabajo disponible para voluntarios
nacionales e internacionales incluye:
realizar
encuestas y
sondeos de opinión de diversos sectores de
la economía y la
sociedad; investigación de datos económicos
oficiales; la realización de entrevistas

de planes de programas educativos;
iniciar y desarrollar contactos
con organizaciones;
organizar, administrar y
facilitar presentaciones,
conferencias , talleres y
clases; producción y presentación de
obras teatrales,
músicales y otros
proyectos artísticos; manejar las
comunicaciones en línea, gestión
técnico de
computadoras y
redes,
ayuda administrativo general y de secretaría;
y más. Los plazos de trabajo
pueden ser desde un mes a
un año.
REQUISITOS BÁSICOS PARA SER VOLUNTARIO NACIONAL
Para participar como voluntario en las actividades del CEIHG, uno
debe graduarse al nivel "Superior" del curso Comprender
la Economía
ofrecido varias veces al año por el CEIHG en Managua. Se prefieren graduados
que participan regularmente en algunas actividades
educativa del CEIHG (como es ser miembro activo del
Fondo Comuntario Georgista). Los que graduaron antes del 2010 y no
han participado en otras actividades educativas del CEIHG después,
deben tomar el curso CE de nuevo para calificarse para el trabajo
voluntario.
PARTICIPACIÓN Y ESTIPÉNDIOS
Voluntarios calificados pueden trabajar con el CEIHG en horarios abiertos con
compromisos limitados, de día a día o semanal,
según su propia disponibilidad. No hay
ningún compromiso de relación laboral por parte del voluntario ni por parte
del CEIHG. Según el estado de los fondos del CEIHG, y el tipo de
trabajo realizado, el voluntario puede recibir un estipendio para
apoyar su participación.
